Franklin Drama Club Update/Info Mtg 1/22
You can find the schedule, parent info letter, and other info we handed out last week at: http://franklindramaclub.weebly.com
We are holding an informational Parent Meeting this Thursday, January 22, from 6:30-7 pm. Please join us to hear about the rehearsal process and schedule, how kids will be working behind the scenes, and volunteer opportunities. Franklin's main entrance will be open, and we'll meet in the Little Theater, room 224. (Students do not need to attend.)
All rehearsals are 3-5pm this week. If you're not sure which rehearsals you need to attend, you can check the Character/Scene Breakdown on the website. We also posted the list of musical numbers (page iv in the script), so please check those as well, since "Scene" and "Music" rehearsals are listed separately on the schedule. And if you have any questions, just email us.
A few reminders:
- Continue to let us know in advance if you will be missing rehearsal time. We are pretty flexible during the first several weeks to try to work around other activities, but we do ask that students prioritize drama during the three weeks right before the show. It just becomes impossible to have good dress rehearsals and run the show if actors are missing. It also means they are missing out on valuable rehearsal time for themselves. It takes a lot of focus and hard work in the last few weeks in order to get the show ready for performance.
- Make sure to bring your script to all rehearsals, along with a pencil for taking notes.
- If you're bringing an instrument home, bring it to rehearsal; the band room might be locked after you're finished.
Thank you for supporting your student's interest in the theatrical arts -- we hope to see you Thursday!
