The Franklin Drama Club will be holding auditions for the Fall Play the first week of school! Audition days are Wednesday 8/26 and Thursday 8/27, right after school. The play is called "3-2-1 Blast Off! Weird Stories from Space," and there are lots of roles. It's about the crew of a spaceship on a mission gone wrong, and Franklin students wrote the entire show! Auditions will take place in the Little Theater (Room 224) -- 2:30 to 4:30pm on Wednesday, and 3 to 5pm on Thursday. You only need to attend one day, and you may leave when your audition ends. If you don't want to audition for a role, you can still participate by signing up for stage crew on those days. The performances will be at 7pm on Friday, October 16 & Saturday, October 17. Please note, Friday the 16th is a no school day in the CRCSD.

PARENTS:
Thanks very much for your support -- we're looking forward to putting on a great show! We're halfway there! 5 weeks down, 5 to go. Actors did a great job rehearsing off-book last week.
For some silly superhero inspiration (sets, props, costumes, characters!) check out the reruns of the 1960s Batman show on the Independent Film Channel (IFC). http://www.ifc.com/shows/batman
Thanks to the actors & crew for contributing many great ideas for the production. Actors: if you haven't submitted your costume idea yet, send it in soon!
Everyone has rehearsal tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 9 (all songs, plus Drama Club). Later this week we'll rehearse scenes 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 & 10 off-book. A few reminders about Monday's rehearsal:
Thank you for supporting your student's interest in the theatrical arts! Hello Tech Crew -- We will make up today's Drama Club tomorrow (Tues. 2/3) after school for one hour, 3-4pm, in the Little Theater.
Please bring your planner & I'll sign it so you can work on the production during 6th period over the next several weeks. If you'd rather work after school (on days other than Mondays/Drama Club), let me know that as well. (Even if you can't attend the whole hour tomorrow, stop by & let me know your availability.) Last week everyone listened very patiently at our first "production meeting." First, we gave them a summary of the play's plot. We also talked about the different pre-production and production jobs for crew. They submitted lots of great ideas for set, props, costumes, lighting, and sound! Then we visited the prop room, costume room, lighting booth, and sound board. Tomorrow we'll start designing and making signs & other set pieces.
Franklin Drama Club Update/Week 2 recap & info
Last week we read through each scene and began singing with our amazing Music Director, Lynn Rothrock! If you have a rehearsal conflict, let us know the day before via email or paper note.
